Anti-Aging Botox ®

General Procedure
The procedure works by altering the facial muscles beneath the skin that are related to wrinkles. A cream with local anesthetic will be placed on your skin prior to treatment, and ice will be immediately applied upon completion of the Botox ® treatment. Typically a small amount (1-2 cc's) of Botox ® is injected into the area of the wrinkle. Botox ® works by blocking the impulses from the nerve to the facial muscles, thereby relaxing them. The result is the underlying facial muscles relax and the skin begins to smooth out. The effects of a Botox ® treatment will lasts 3 to 4 months after which the patient may choose to repeat the procedure.
Recovery Process
Patients generally return to their normal activities immediately after the procedure, however following the post-procedure guidelines will dramatically reduce the length and intensity of the recovery period. Patients should avoid engaging in heavy physical exercise, applying cosmetics, or laying down flat for a minimum of 4 hours after the injections. It is also advisable to avoid rubbing or massaging the injected area for at least 24 hours.
The Juvederm Collection of Fillers
As we age we lose fat deposits in our face, Juvederm temporarily replenishes that volume in your face. Juvederm Collection of Fillers is a colorless hyaluronic acid gel that is injected into facial tissue to smooth wrinkles and folds, especially around the nose and mouth. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring sugar found in the human body. The role of hyaluronic acid in the skin is to deliver nutrients, hydrate the skin by holding in water, and to act as a cushioning agent. Juvederm Collection of Fillers temporarily adds volume to facial tissue and restores a smoother appearance to the face. The effects last about one year, depending on how fast your body breaks it down.
How it is done:
Injections may cause some discomfort during and after the injection, Juvederm Collection of Fillers is injected directly into the skin using a fine needle to reduce injection discomfort. Experienced Dr. Adler may choose to anesthetize the treatment area to further minimize discomfort. There is very little down-time involved, as most patients return to their normal, daily activities right after their visit. Dr. Adler uses a cannula whenever possible to deliver the facial fillers. It’s a blunt tipped needle which is safer and kinder to the tissue resulting in less possibility for bruising. Side effects:
Just like with any injection, you may experience mild irritation, swelling, itching, redness, bruising or tenderness at the injection site. These typically resolve on their own.
Kybella
What is KYBELLA®?
KYBELLA® is a prescription medicine used in adults to improve the appearance and profile of moderate to severe fat below the chin (submental fat), also called “double chin”. With a series of injections in the neck area, it permanently dissolves the fat. It typically takes 6 visits 1 month apart. Patients start to see results in as little as 2 to 3 visits.
VI Peel
What is VI Peel?
A VI Peel is a medium-depth chemical peel that penetrates your top layer of skin. Like other chemical peels, a VI Peel works by exfoliating your skin and stimulating the production of new proteins. The procedure is commonly used to treat signs of aging, improve skin texture, and correct pigmentation issues. Collagen and elastin are the two key proteins that give skin structure and elasticity. Loss of these proteins contributes to the formation of wrinkles.
